A few weeks back, I finally put together a little video playlist for the great Get Bent!, compiling a handful of my favorite performances, the sort that I return to at times for a number of reasons. You can enjoy the playlist below, along with the original info via Get Bent!:
Craig Oliver is the man behind Volar Records. He’s responsible for putting out some stellar records (Fishage, Poisoner, Ese Culito, and Infinite Sun to name a few). We could rattle off the rest of his accomplishments, or you can read for yourself in our interview, “Volar Records Takes Flight,” where
he talks about his fascination with film. In response, we asked him to
create a guest mix of music videos, whether staged or live, for us to
share. Check out our other guest mixes here. Tracklist available after the cut.
So, I thought about breaking these down song by song, detailing the
history behind their own personal importance to me and what not.
Instead, I’ll try and keep it short. These are all favorite songs of
mine, and just about my favorite performances that I resort back to from
time to time, all perfect (to me, at least) encapsulations of these
particular artists that happened to be captured on film. Perhaps I’ll
extrapolate more later, but for now, here’s a look my own weird
gravitation to a few somewhat more disparate acts, some of this going
back a number of years. I wish everyone was as good as anyone involved
here. --co/volar records
